      If the house voted on rules that allow for this escort crap, then the sergeant at arms can enforce it.

      The Texas Constitution empowers the legislature to compel the attendance of its members using whatever means each chamber may enact in its own rules.

    The Democrats had fled to blue states earlier this month after President Trump suggested the state should redraw its U.S. House district maps to secure more Republican seats.

    I like how “the ruling party openly rigs the system” is only the side story.

            So, up until that moment, Newsom didn’t know about Republican gerrymandering, or or hadn’t occurred to him to fight it? You know something, I can almost believe that. The only part I won’t believe is that Newsom is fighting them on principal instead of showboating for a 2028 run. The smart money says he folds just like the Texas Democrats.
