Donald Trump expressed certainty his big gamble to directly assist the Israelis delivered a knockout blow to Iran’s nuclear program — even as many supporters and detractors alike were warning that U.S. military action could draw the United States into an expansive regional conflict.

Trump, in brief remarks to the nation on Saturday evening from the White House, said the U.S. strikes “obliterated” three critical Iranian enrichment facilities and “the bully of the Middle East must now make peace.”

But it’s a risky moment for Trump, who has belittled his predecessors for tying up America in “stupid wars” and has repeatedly said he was determined to keep the U.S. and the Middle East from another expansive conflict.

    How’s it risky? The media’s still trying to sanewash it.

    It’s also not questioning Trump’s flunkies’ damage assessment.

    God damn I hate this country. Every mainstream news outlet is just working in their own way to manufacture concent for more war. It’s so fucking gross and so obvious to anyone paying attention. Fuck this place.

    Love that AP News considers an utterly illegal, inhumane, and unnecessary bombing to be a ‘risky moment’. Instead of, you know, a crime against humanity.

    The pledges mean nothing; Trump uses words as nothing more than a way to get people to do what he wants. To him, speaking truthfully is as foreign and unnecessary as speaking backwards.

    You think his cult members won’t eat this up and just follow their Daddy because he told them so, Associated Press? That’s rich, they’re already out there justifying it. Once they get their marching orders from FOX, it will be “war is a good thing and when we said wars in the middle east were bad we just meant only when they’re started by Democrats” conveniently ignoring how few of them have been started by Democrats instead of being spearheaded by Republicans like the faked intelligence leading to the Iraq War. Democrats didn’t push it, they just went along with it because public sentiment said the people wanted war. Democrats, being the wishy washy fucks they are, bent over and said “I’ll do whatever I need to keep idiots happy and voting me back in.”

      Not so much voting them back in as much as donating to the DNC, democrats ultimately don’t care about winning, in fact they make more money when they’re losing.

      The talking points I’m picking up are:

      • this isn’t a real war, we were in and out with precision munitions, and our people are back safe, everyone should praise them for being so awesome;

      • Iran has been a bully for decades, and somebody needs to punch the bully in the mouth, when that happens everyone stands back and is happy the bully got punched in the mouth;

      • this isn’t a new war, Iran has been at war with us and our allies for a long time via their proxy groups

      • Biden was never able to take care of business, now Trump is in and it’s taken care of, and only the Americans could’ve done it because of our awesome military technology.

    The only “risk” is if the people fail to rise up and overthrow Trump. We failed that, we will lose group of all freedom.

    risky moment

    FFS.

    Stupid moment, more like.

    A move ignoring the input of his own Intelligence Dept (if Gabbard/intelligence can be used??) and specifically executed in hopes Chump can parlay it into that Peace Prize he’s been jonesing for with the added benefit of making Netan-yayhoo happy.

    Effect: oil prices will rise substantially, US is now open to another 9/11 event with the regime of ultimate stupidity in charge, Putain will not react happily, and other such fun and joy I haven’t yet thought of…

    Fucking. Idiot. Impulsive. OutOfControl. Toddler.
