Organic Maps is definitely easier to use, especially for new users but OsmAnd is more powerful. I have both and they’re awesome.

I use Pixelfed by subscribing to hashtags that I’m interested in and artists/photographers who I come across via hashtags or my instance feed.
I’m guessing that this is how Pixelfed is designed to be used as users and hashtags are what makes up your home feed.
I’ve never felt the need to browse by instance but I can see that this could be a cool feature to add if there are any which are dedicated to a particular subject or style. Of course the same functionality can be accomplished simply by users adding unique and specific hashtags to their posts e.g #celticsculptures or #seeninplymouth.
Along with the defence stuff, this is a golden opportunity for Labour to say “Circumstances have changed and unfortunately we must begin raising more taxes”.
Polling currently supports raising taxes, everyone is fed up of wealth inequality and they have a big majority in parliament. The solution is obvious. He doesn’t even have to fall out with Trump.
This is what can happen if you don’t get anyone to look after your house when you’re away.
It’s all just entertainment
This just makes me angry
Government has become too beholden to the financial industry. Anything that takes power back from them will ostensibly look like a market crash and so chancellors are politically snookered.
I don’t think anything will change until either the government has the courage and wits to face this down (implement economic policy that is good for the people but bad for the markets) or if external forces cause a crash and it has the opportunity to rebuild the economy. The first option would be quicker but more gnarly for politicians and the financial industry and the second option will be worse for us all.
Those who sit around passively getting rich on rents and debt interest (the same thing) are the real scroungers, not benefits claimants.
A bricklayer will try to use these with a hammer.
The machine doesn’t belong to me. I’ve had this experience on other computers running Windows.
Funny that the US has become more like Russia since Trump was elected.
I have to use Windows at work and by early afternoon if I’m not forced to reboot for an update I have to reboot because the machine has basically ground to a halt.
Why does Windows slow down the longer it’s been booted?
“The cost of tax exemption for assets is devastating”
The next prime minister to say this fixes the economy. Go.
I wouldn’t even say that Lammy got rebuked. Just look at the language. They’re pretty much just saying “This is the FO’s/David Lammy’s view, we do not technically endorse it. Please speak to them.”
Well done David Lammy! He just earned a bit of respect from me. We could have easily woken up to the news that he’d ben shuffled off or even sacked for this. Or he could have said nothing at all in the first place.
In the context of the govts relationship with Israel I think this is actually good news.
I don’t want to see commercial content. I also don’t want others to see it because it will pollute the culture of the Fediverse.
I think AI has mostly been about luring investors into pumping up share prices rather than offering something of genuine value to consumers.
Some people are gonna lose a lot of other people’s money over it.
Would you be able to subscribe to those things via your account if they hadn’t made it across to your instance though? I’m no expert but perhaps this is side-effect of controls for moderating federation i.e blocking or allowing content from other instances.
I do agree that it should be easier to browse any instance though. Some Pixelfed instances browser home pages seem to allow it and some don’t - I’m guessing it’s an admin option somewhere.
