Driving the news: Asked at a press conference if it is time for new leadership in the Senate, Jeffries quickly responded, “Next question.”

  • Asked if he has lost confidence in Schumer, Jeffries again replied: “Next question.”

  • Pressed further, Jeffries said he looks “forward to reporting back to all of you when I’ve had conversations” in his district over the weekend.

Honestly, for a question like “have you lost confidence in Chuck Schumer”, anything but a “no” is a pretty harsh response. That’s not a question that’s supposed to have two equally valid answers. If someone asks you “do you love your wife” and the answer is “next question”, you didn’t really dodge the question.

Well stated. I don’t know why it reminded me of the old Mr. Show sketch about the politician who runs on making fun of a fat guy, and later his own wife:

If your wife had a face like this, you’d run too!

Jeffries is a master at sidestepping questions and offering noncommittal answers. I watched his interview with Jon Stewart, where he sidestepped for a solid hour. He and Schumer are truly an inspiring pair.

Jeffries needs to go as much as Pelosi and Schumer, he was their pick to carry their torch when they inevitably died in office.

Don’t let him distance himself and pretend he’d do anything differently.

Just a reminder: if these people win their primaries, which incumbents almost always do, you MUST vote for them no matter how much you dislike them or you’re a bad person
