I also heard that some agencies sent out emails notifying they’d be shut down, and found out the emails were edited to blame Democrats…

Impressive when they control absolutely no part of the government. I wonder how people capable of such an feat aren’t able to gain control of any part of government…

The politically illiterate oxymorons are always really funny to me.

“Radical left democrats” / “Radical liberals” (my fav)

    “Marxist Fascists”

    “Fascist antifa thugs”

I guess this is specifically illegal according to the Hatch Act which is supposed to prevent using public service websites from being used to smear a political party.

It’s usually preceded by some storming of beaches, marching across the region before holding trials and hanging people.

You youngsters always want to skip to the end when there’s plenty of killing fascists along the way!

“All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined could not, by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years.”

Never thought I’d say this, but here’s hoping that A. Lincoln was wrong.

We can’t fix this for you (addressing Americans here, whether you personally are one or not). We’re of course very thankful for the help with Germany (and Japan, even if here in Europe that didn’t really affect us - you helped our Asian brothers and sisters). But America has positioned itself such that it’s impossible to invade. It’s the largest military power in the world, with spending larger than the next several countries added together, with bases everywhere around the globe. And in fact as a NATO member, my own country would have to assist the US if it’s invaded and invokes article 5. On the west and east you’re insulated by oceans. North and South there are countries that could be staging grounds for an invasion, but for now they’re allied and even if they no longer are, good luck to us getting troops from the other continents to Canada and Mexico without the ships and planes being destroyed on the way. Even if we get people on the ground in like Nicaragua or something, that’s going to be a long-ass drive to actually American territory.

No, this is up to you guys to fix. I can’t speak for everyone, but I think I speak for many when I say we’re sorry we can’t help. Any insurrection has to come from within, hoping the people of the US military are unwilling to shoot their own neighbors, friends and family. If they are, then it’s civil war time.

Elections have consequences, hopefully more people are starting to understand that and take them seriously.

The current fascist coup in the US is not the result of a free and fair election.

Decades of gerrymandering and disinformation within an electoral system that was never designed to reflect the will of the population, combined with illegal vote buying schemes, foreign interference and the combined wealth of Russian and American plutocrats intent on an authoritarian state got us here.

The US didn’t vote itself into this situation and no amount of taking voting seriously is going outweigh the power of armed wealth.

          ☺️

This kind of “dumb-dumbs voted wrong” attitude always feels widely off the mark to me. A bit elitist but mostly just inaccurate. I’ve been trying through a bunch of comments to think through why.

Dumb-dumbs fell for bullshit propaganda because it made them feel better. Have you talked to Trumpers? They’re people of the land, the salt of the earth.

You can tell them they’ve been misled and they will get very upset with you.

It takes willful ignorance to still want to vote for Trump, and I’m afraid if we had an election in November they would probably do it again. Next year we will see how many want to vote for Trump’s enablers.

    git blame

Who committed this change? Who acquiesced? I want their name known, so I can join a class-action suit against them, citing the Hatch Act.

Democrats have been outmaneuvered by the GQP yet again.

Instead of headlines everywhere saying, “Republicans, despite controlling the House, Senate and White House are unable to agree to keep the government running”, the Democrats have allowed the narrative to become “Democrats unwilling to reach an agreement with Trump.”

The Republicans have been willing to burn the country down to remain in power since at least the Bush/Gore election. At some point the Democrats have to stop playing by the GQP’s rules.

The key here is to remove the parties ability to control the narrative. If no one believes them when they say shit like this, it cuts against them. Largely, this kind of psychotic rhetoric only works when they are out of power; when they have total power, its obvious that its them that are the problem.
