    Oh my God thank you. What the hell happened to our hacker community? Why has it rolled over and taken this bs? Where is cyanogen when we need him most?

      We have graphene and lineage and mobile Linux

      It’s just your bank and mobile providers apps won’t work on those, and you kind of need their shitty in app 2fa these days.

        I use lineage. The second image is highly accurate. In the old days we’d have a dozen different roms per device, and just as many workarounds for device integrity nonsense.

        And the roms actually added features and customizability. Now you’re lucky to get an AOSP fork that will boot without issues, which is all Lineage really is anymore.

          I just discussed this with a coworker. I haven’t been in the modding community for years, but I was shocked to see XDA pretty much dead when I visited it couple weeks ago. I miss the days I couldn’t decide which ROM and kernel to use because the choice was so big.

        Actually that’s slightly outdated news, GrapheneOS does have compatibility with quite a few banking apps now (they even have a community supported list on their site, and I’m using mine rn on Graphene)
