    Finding out recycling isn’t real

And that hard work isn’t equal to success

Recycling is real. But only from certain materials and only if its profitable to do so.

Sure, obviously its a thing that can be done, but the impact and efficiency of those programs have been largely oversold.

Oversold largely by Plastics companies it’s important to say.

Recycling will always better than producing new materials, especially things like aluminum which requires tremendous amounts of enegry to produce.

But obviously reducing is best option.

Did finding out Santa wasn’t real not occur in your real life?

Not OP, but it didn’t in mine. My parents didn’t lie to me, at least about Santa.

Being a hard worker isn’t all you need to “make it”. It also takes interpersonal skills, some luck, and usually a lot of help along the way.

A lot the issues with the world today boil down to many people not realizing this - They’re working hard but never seem to get ahead, so they look fior someone to blame. And usually this blame falls on the wrong crowd because of the wrong takeaway.

Both, really. But said contacts are usually covered by the interpersonal skills.

They made the mistake of letting us know that the last one they made us do before high school graduation didn’t matter. So I didn’t do it. In retrospect I should have skipped instead of sitting there in defiance and drawing patterns in the multiple choice blobs.

Things on the internet do not last forever.

Websites are frequently shut down and abandoned and not backed up, and information disappears off of the internet every single day, forever and ever, never to be recovered.

Being betrayed by someone you never thought would’ve, and having no one really see them differently for what ruined your life. I reckon it’s the combination of broken trust and crushing disappointment in humanity.

When I realized the USA isn’t the great country they taught us about in school. It was like losing part of my identity, like finding out your Dad isn’t your real father or something. It sucks not being able to love the place you live, especially when you were raised so patriotically.
