wut. Fuck you Lithuania
I really don’t understand why anyone over here cares some far right propagandist on the other side of the Atlantic got murdered.
It has been getting constant media attention… Why? What is this idiot’s relevance to Europeans? I get why our far right cares, but why do I need to be bombarded with every tiny detail about him by regular newspapers?
And the moments of silence for some random American piece of shit are even worse.
First, because all Western far-right parties are, in fact, just one international party organized with MAGA. Second, here in Europe, we are merely vassal states of America. And third, Lithuania needs to appease the US to gain its favour in the event of a Russian invasion.
The US is literally the last country anyone should want to ally with. We’re almost certainly not going to assist anyone but Putin on the global stage and even that will run out of steam as we become the crisis if this course doesn’t change.
Because fascists are the same bad faith, narcissist, hypocrite, opportunists everywhere.
But it’s not the fascists publishing obituaries in the main newspapers.
Maybe things are different across the pond but fascists own all media over here
It’s their enablers, though. And those are just as bad as the real thing.
If you look at the rise of the most infamous fascist regime to date, the 3rd Reich, you’ll find that there, the fascists only could get into power, because they were constantly aided and enabled by self proclaimed “conservatives”.
Still, I don’t understand why the (Dutch) liberal media feels it has to treat this like it’s incredibly important.
Multiple factors.
- Thanks to incessant propaganda, and spineless “democrats” engaging in false “tolerance” towards the intolerant, the entire political spectrum has shifted towards the right a fair bit.
- The overall decline of journalism
- Facts are a thing of the past, everything is treated as an opinion. Instead of researching and reporting on facts, it’s way easier to simply parrot opposing “opinions” and pretend it’s balanced reporting.
Engagement and attentionOutrage driven, mostly ad funded “journalism” where the most outrageous piece generates the most clicks and therefore revenue- Shallow click bait journalism will regurgitate every piece of shit that comes out of “social” media, which pioneered outrage driven (and driving) algorithms
- Corporate media owned by people who think they will profit from and therefore support fascists with outright propaganda
- The success of the fascists and media circus inducing spineless “democrats” to cater to the extreme right, in order to (typically unsuccessfully, because why vote for a cheap copy if you can have the real deal) fish for votes in the fascist cesspool of hatred shifting the political spectrum even further.
- The right shift is a self accelerating feedback loop, it normalises views, which were unthinkable to civilised people only a short time ago.
This unfortunately is a phenomenon that’s pretty global. This time, there is little chance of any outside help against fascists gaining power, because barely any country will be spared from that fate.
Dafuq?
I hope this was more of a statement against violence and not to specifically honor the person:
There is a huge difference between
This week violence shed another victim, X, who was shot while hosting an event.
And:
X was a good man, he enouraged debate and listened to all sides, he was shot while hosting a debate
I am ok with the first one, not the second
Why take an instance of violence in a far off country where such violence is a daily occurrence as an example to make a statement against violence? Even more so, why take exactly the example where that violence hit a vile person who not only stood against all values of a modern democratic country, but also has been consistently and repeatedly arguing in favour of much worse cases of that particular kind of violence for all his life?
What those politicians did, is a disgrace and an offense to not only democracy, but also to basic human decency and common sense.
What a disgrace.
Fucking chodes
