I am also told that at least one fire station had kept their flag lowered, and locked it in place, requiring the fire chief to come cut the lock. Also that there are people sneaking around lowering flags.

    He wasn’t a politician, head of state, particularly well known, or unanimously loved person. The only person he represented was himself. Objectively speaking, There’s no reason to lower the flag for him.

      Honestly, lowering the flag for him cheapens lowering the flag altogether.

      It just doesn’t mean what it used to. This is when it changed.

        It’s insulting. Regardless of your feelings on Kirk, this was hardly an attack on the whole of America. It was yet another school shooting. We have quite a few of those.

          Arguably, a school shooting with only one victim is progress? I didn’t quickly find statistics on average deaths per incident, but did see that there is over 1 incident per week average since 2021.

            Not every victim of a shooting dies from the injuries. I would argue one whole death is in the realm of shooting event deaths even with multiple victims.
