    That was illegal.

There will be no consequences, and we won’t stop you from doing it again, repeatedly, but shame on you.

Pretty sure everyone knew and has known that it’s illegal. The problem was never the legality, the problem has always been that nobody’s going to stop him. And so it is with all of the other illegal things the administration’s done so far and will do

This is also the largest issue with the ability of the populace to stop him. The military and militarized police are with him. They could have refused this order, as they’re sworn to do, but they didn’t. Maybe the lower level enlisted didn’t have the knowledge of the order’s legality, but the NCOs and officers commanding them certainly did. They are class traitors and present as a monumental obstacle to the rest of us.

Marines and military personnel in general are class traitors. They may lack the class consciousness to know it, but the act of signing up is traitorous to the working class around the world.

It’s the Miller plan from day one: ignore law, push to SCOTUS, and get those bitches to legalize it.

And since it’s illegal, they’re going to prevent him from deploying them to Chicago like he just said he was going to, right? …right?

My favourite is the statement from Battle Suit Barbie that LA just wouldn’t be there anymore because of some immigration protests, so they should be thankful Trump sent in the guard. You know, that same guard that did nothing and mostly sat around on their hands in cramped spaces without adequate food or services. What a joke of a country.

Now that it has been determined that the deployment was illegal, any that obey in the future should face penalties.

It doesn’t sound like the National Guard members are facing individual penalties for following illegal orders.

This is unfortunate. But I guess with fascists “just following orders” is par for the course.

ummm, this judge just ruled it was illegal - the order violated the Posse Comitatus act. There was no “rebellion” at the time of the order, therefore it was illegal, and those following the illegal orders should be penalized.

Illegal orders don’t just become illegal after a judge rules that they were…

I’m not sure you understand at all how things work. Until it is deemed illegal by the courts, it is a legal order for military service members. Defying a legal order is grounds for punishment. Most active service members rely on their pay and benefits, so making a moral stamd on a questionable order isn’t likely.

So what happens now? Does Trump get a fine or something? Not asking to be an ass, I actually don’t know what the repercussions of this is (I bet it will be nothing)

I would assume he would get impeached for it as that is how you punish a president for acting illegally. Unfortunately there are those pesky republican collaborators in congress.

The judge might tut tut at him or he’ll get a sternly worded letter, but I don’t really see him suffering consequences for this (though I would really like to be wrong!)

I haven’t seen Trumps response but I have a feeling it was similar to my grandfather’s when the nurse in his retirement home told him to stop shitting on the common area couch when he’s watching war movies.

There is a giant bar on the door for anyone not already in the political elite or those circles to keep them from getting in. They are all trash. The Dems had the perfect counter to Trump in Bernie Sanders and the establishment pulled the rug out from under him to nominate Hillary. Against the wishes of the masses. Not that Hillary isn’t a capable leader, she is more than qualified, but people were done with the same old elitist shit and she was just another representation of that. Bernie is far from perfect, but he is actually there to help people, all of them, not just his friends. Trump vs Sanders debates would have been off the hook!
