A video recorded last week has ignited outrage online after it captured ICE agents violently arresting two brothers in South Norwalk, Connecticut, in broad daylight without producing a warrant. The men, identified as Ricardo Chavez and his brother, reportedly hold legal status to live and work in the United States.

The footage (credit @alwaysfilmthepolice) shows plainclothes ICE agents forcibly detaining the men in a public area. Witnesses say the agents refused to provide identification or present a warrant when asked, instead resorting to physical force and a taser to subdue the brothers before hauling them away. They also allegedly damaged their vehicle.

Community members who know the Chavez family insist that both men are law-abiding residents with valid documentation. “They work, they pay taxes, and they belong here,” said one South Norwalk resident who witnessed the arrest. “This was nothing short of a kidnapping.”

For many Americans, I think the reason for their support of 2A is so they can help the fascists against the rest of us. Most 2A supporters that I’ve met are not what I’d call good people. For the rest of us, it’s hard to find someone willing to die in the hail of bullets that will certainly follow the first shot of the resistance.

I have to concur. I used to work at a place where some portion of employees were NRA style gun owners. Couldn’t help noticing that the people always going on about guns were psychopaths that least should’ve been allowed near anything dangerous.

I read the article. Shooting agents such as those in the article is what the second amendment is for

I saw the video. Do you think that you have a point, or are you just making dipshit comments for fun?

You did not see the video, anyone with half a brain would know the outcome if anyone tried to 2a in that situation. Living is better than swiss cheese

I always thought the whole point of 2a was to shoot POC… But I’m not an American so maybe the nuance is lost on me

I am an American “person of color” (gods, what stupid phrase… fuck this newspeak) who owns firearms (at home; I live abroad currently).

Here’s the exact verbiage of the 2nd Amendment:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Interpret that as thou wilt; we’ve been arguing about it since about 1791.

For what it’s worth, I’d amend the amendment to include this snippet from Marx, just to confuse us all even more:

Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary.

I don’t disagree about anything you said, just a quick note because it’s a term that’s worth understanding:

“Newspeak” is a concept based on the dumbing down of language in order to make communication more difficult and complex concepts almost impossible. It’s not just new words or phrases. If it’s not damaging our ability to think and communicate, it’s not Newspeak. For this reason, “politically correct” alternatives (like “POC”), as well as increasingly specific terms (like “omnisexual” or “demi girl”) don’t qualify as Newspeak because they either continue the existing ability to think and communicate or enhance it by being more exacting about the concepts involved.

I’m not trying to be pedantic, it’s just important to me that people understand what Newspeak really is because the fascists really are trying to implement it as a means of reducing resistance against them. My favorite example is “climate change” which was a term introduced by right wing think tanks to undermine the more accurate (and more alarming) term “global warming.” And it worked.

Anyway, again I don’t disagree with your points, so please carry on!
