The new Mario kart is the same as the old Mario kart. Just play 8 if you want to play Mario kart lol.
For better or for worse, it’s actually quite different. Many people seem to actually prefer Mario Kart 8 lol

Kinda the best of both worlds if you have both games, really. MK8 had a ton of “traditional” tracks and MKW has a ton of new tracks.
