I’ve found neat things on the side of the road by walking around my home, ranging from brass knuckles to a case with 3 Nintendo Switch cartridges inside. I tried to find the owner of the games (probably a kid who dropped it when getting off the school bus) but was unable to.

Yes, calling someone a useless piece of shit when they are trying hard, but failing, at doing something very difficult makes you an asshole. It is the opposite of constructive feedback; it’s just an insult. In case it hadn’t dawned on you, the guy wasn’t just having to solo parent, he was having to solo parent while presumably worried sick about his hospitalized spouse.

You might as well hate Halloween because it gives overly-religious people an excuse for their Satanic Panic every year. It has nothing to do with the actual holiday itself, but how bad actors have co-opted it. And I say that as an atheist who enjoys Christmas in a secular way.
Christmas rules. I love having a time every year where I can reliably take some time off work and spend it with family.
That said, I’m not skipping Halloween by any measure; I love Halloween as well. Our decorations our going up today.

Yeah, I think I’ve only bought one or two PS5 exclusives since I got mine around October 2020. Demon Souls remake and Horizon Forbidden West (though the latter is now available on Steam).
That said, I still think I’ve gotten a good amount of value out of the console by reaping the Patient Gamer™ rewards by picking up many of the major PS3/PS4 titles during good sales. I didn’t play many video games during the PS3/PS4 era, so I missed out on quite a few major releases. I’ve accumulated a pretty great digital library with some fantastic games for a relatively small amount of money (which, like my Steam library, I’ve only actually played a fraction of).
As an aside, probably my favorite PS5 exclusive has just been the free Astro Bot game. The haptics in the DualSense controller are frankly cool as hell, and I hope more games utilize them going forward.
My parents and all their friends used to use PTT with their Nextel phones. It was a super handy feature. I wonder why it fell out of style. Seemed more convenient and less tedious than a phone call for short communications.
I’ve tried the mint extract approach before, but it has never helped keep wasps away from our house. I wonder if efficacy varies based on the specific kind of wasps.
Been playing Silksong a couple of hours each day since launch. It’s been a fantastic experience so far. Tough, but fair. Great pacing, which incentivizes getting good with the default moveset before expanding it with powerups.
Looking forward to putting some more time into this one over the next few weeks.
This is the first I’ve heard of such a thing. Like TVs connecting to one another through Wifi Direct or BTLE and tethering their internet connection? Can you link to anything discussing this?
A wojak image can’t really refute anything; it’s just depicting the original poster as being a seething dumbass (an ad hominem response). If the poster accompanies said wojak image with a counterargument, that could refute something, but most wojak responses don’t bother with actually making any kind of salient point. Which is why it’s such a popular format: it’s low effort.

I really like the Interactive Relationship Graph on your site. Reminds me of when I used to work with graph databases and could visualize all the information in the database as a handy graph of nodes and relationships.
Came here to say something similar. I always have mixed feelings on Scrubs for similar reasons to you. I genuinely can’t go back and rewatch most episodes because they are incredibly dated or insensitive in many respects. The good parts are still good, the great parts are still great, but the bad parts feel really bad IMO, and it really kills a lot of rewatch potential for me, despite having loved watching seasons 1-5 when it was originally airing. It was one of my favorite shows for years.
I can definitely watch older stuff and understand it’s a product of its time, but Scrubs in particular has me cringing by 5 minutes into the episode for some unpleasant reason, I can’t get through the rest of the episode most of the time. I end up skipping around to watch the scenes I know I like. I ain’t got time to sit around watchin’ The Todd harass people or Kelso make his usual “wife bad” jokes.
What a soundtrack, though. One of the better soundtracks of any show I’ve watched.
Her science-oriented methods break down when it comes to (in the broadest sense) “supernatural” phenomena - because they are, by definition even, outside science.
I only watched the first 2 or 3 seasons of The X-Files, so I there’s lots of episodes I haven’t seen, but this seems incorrect to me. Scully and Mulder were chasing unexplained phenomena, which are entirely within the realm of science. Humans tend to call things “supernatural” when we don’t know how to explain them (ghosts, monsters, aliens, etc), but those entities (in the context of The X-Files where they are actually real), once observed, can be subjected to the scientific method the same as anything else. Aliens and cryptids and such in The X-Files aren’t magic; it’s just extremely rare for humans to be able to observe and study them.
I do love when this happens. I could probably think of more examples if I took the time, but the first that immediately springs to mind is Buffy the Vampire Slayer pulling a rocket launcher on a vampire.
