I don’t know why people ever voted for Trump or are surprised by any of this. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck. His character has been well known for a long time.

Trump is a chaos generator. Chaos is bad for business.

You know this is over blown since “only” is used. Sure important. Not only.

Well of course they do.

I know I originally subscibed to some popular feeds on lemmy.ml. Not sure now which ones but they were filled with what was probably Russian propaganda so I had to dump them.

I wonder if this has to do with the fact that probably for most Americans, it is not a number 1 issue. Now the administration as made it a big issue for everyone and in a way that is basically not acceptable to many of us and that they said they would not do during their campaign (Who could have known…). It is also kind of laughabe that on one hand there are people screaming about low birth rates, not enough workers, and on the other screaming about too much immigration. If birth rates are too low and there are not enough workers, immigration is the a solution and it has always been a big part of the American identity. So has push back against it, and so has isolationism, and racism too. So I have more wonders about this then answers, but it is “interesting”.

Simple. It has not been a priority. If it was, you would see the US invoke the defense priduction act and similarly allocate nearly unlimited funds.

There are many reasons things are not made in the US including:

• Unwillingness to accept lower profits including as compared with foreign competitors.

• Unwillingness to make big and risky capital investments needed for scale.

• An active mangemement objective to globalize their organization. Presumbly for flexibility.

Companies always throw it on manufacturing cost is too high because wages are too high but that is not the only reason.

We are doing things. An important judge race in WI went our way. Couple of FL congress races were won by republicans by a lot less then expect#d. In MN we had 25000 p3ople turn out. There are tons of cases working through the couts.

About all can be done at th# moment is file law suits, try to shift public opinion enough so Republican congessman stet getting nervious, win elections as come up.

MAGA is really a billionaire movement wrapped in what looks like a populist movement based primarily only on anger, hate, and oppression. I do not think bribes are needed. It is built-in.
