This isn’t the French Prime Minister announcing the country will cancel Microsoft Office subscriptions and build a fund to support FOSS projects. Gimp has nowhere near the ressources they actually need.

Throughout human history, the powerful nations scream “free trade” when they are confident that their big corporations can be unleashed on the small countries. The United Kingdom embraced free trade when it was confident it could devastate India and China with its industrial exports. The Chinese desperately tried to resist. They were bombed into submission.
Why did the US elite support globalization ? So Coca-Cola, Starbucks Coffee, Microsoft and Apple can be unleashed on the entire planet. When the Chinese started to build large corporations capable of competing with the United States, the entire US elite started to panic. The americans quickly created a wall to protect themselves against BYD.
The British are no longer an empire. They are now a small little country that is raped by global corporations like Starbucks Coffee. But their elites still believe that free trade non-sense.

Installing Linux was a good decision.
I have not gone back to Microsoft Windows.
Don’t listen to people telling you it’s hard. I don’t have an IT degree or engineering degree. Installing it was easy. Linux is elegant, secure and powerful. I love it.
