My wag: they’re treated like bikes or skateboards or even pedestrians, but somewhat vaguely. Definitely no own lanes. Not treated as mopeds.

I would buy an (non Toyota) electric coupe that’s reasonably priced and sized but that’s admittedly an unfashionable niche market to be in. Not that far from a sedan, though. Remove rear doors, b pillar, window frames, lower roof line and the rest is pretty close the same. Several makers know how to do it. Mercedes has made tons.

All things were doable before. The point is that they were manual extra steps.
