I have sterilized equipment in a an operating room. At the hospital I worked at, most instruments got sent to a central processing where there were first given a soak before going into a what was basically a large dish washer. Once the instruments were cleaned, they were sorted by hand and loaded into the appropriate instrument cases before being hand wrapped and taped. Some of the more specialized sets, delicate tools, and scopes were cleaned by myself or another OR aide.
So most surgical tools can definitely be automated but some of the more delicate or specialized tools do require an actual person to clean them.
This was ten years ago so who knows how technology has changed in that time.
“Same as it ever was”
Was he a bad person when he was working as a nurse for 45 years? Was he a bad person when he moved in with his mom in his 20s to help her out when his dad died? Was he a bad person when he volunteered at twice a month at a local food shelter? Was he a bad person when he took photos for the sports teams I was on and paid for a kid’s pictures out of his own pocket because the family couldn’t afford them?
Again, you know one thing. You don’t know why he voted that way, I said before, he is a single issue voter, taxes, period.
Don’t bother responding, those were rhetorical questions and I’m tired of conversing with someone so close minded.
And you formed a strong opinion on someone you’ve never met, based on one thing. I don’t mean any offense but that’s the sort of thing a bad person does.
He did. And in the last three presidential elections, I voted for Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton and I dislike all three of them and I dislike the democrats.
People contain multitudes and don’t always fit neatly into the boxes that society tries to put them in.
My dad doesn’t like Trump, gets vaccinated, and his best friend is the nephew of labor organizer Walter Reuther (that friend is a staunch democrat). But, he dislikes all democrats more than he dislikes Trump because he believes that all democrats want to raise his taxes. Classify that however you want.
I’m not sure, I moved away before he became a politician and I’ve never heard my dad mention his name. Knowing that he supported the teacher’s strike in 2018 and ran as a democrat, I’m sure my dad didn’t like him. Like I said, he’s life long GOP just not MAGA.
My dad has lived in WV his whole life. He’s sadly been a lifelong GOP supporter but hasn’t fully drank the MAGA kool-aid thankfully. I say all this because he hated Robert C Byrd with a passion but I’ll be damned if Byrd or someone from his office didn’t respond to my dad when he wrote letters or called his office.
Now GOP voters can’t even reach the numbskulls that they voted for.

For me it’s always about how much fun I had playing them, so right now and in no order:
Honorable Mentions:
What a waste of time and money. I guess that goes hand in hand with Texas politicians these days.
That was my first thought. How many times have I heard Michelle Obama called a man?
I will admit, I thought that making fun of ICE Barbie’s looks was the necessary and the GOP counter would be exactly what she said. But, I still laughed because she’s made of plastic.
That’s great news! Why isn’t Trump being deposed along with the Clintons?
Obviously I know why but this is the question we need to be asking.
Monday’s vote was mostly symbolic, according to the Texas Tribune, as the warrants only apply within state lines.
The move empowers the chamber’s sergeant-at-arms and state troopers to arrest the absent lawmakers and deliver them to the state capitol building in Austin.
They would not face any civil or criminal charges as a result of the warrant, the newspaper reports.
So basically it’s toothless posturing and only real consequences is that they get sent to the state capitol to go back to work.
Don’t forget investment in public transit like cable cars in that first panel.
I’m with you, I can’t do any of that stuff. I don’t like most social media , the lack of ads and 3rd party apps was a big factor for me to join.
Add remodel or fix up a home to that last quote. I specialize in restoring and preserving old buildings, in the US that’s usually 100+years. Most of our cost is labor but the main material we use is eastern white pine, AKA soft wood, and you can probably guess where that comes from.
I feel the same way. I understand the people who say “fuck ‘em”, but I believe in second chances for most things (some of the more extreme crimes and actions are open for debate).
I’m not really sure myself how to break through the brainwashing but I saw an interesting article on here a few days ago about that same topic. I currently can’t remember the title but I’ll do a quick search when I finish my comment.
The gist of the article was, attacking people with facts doesn’t work but asking open ended questions that force the other person to explore why they think a certain thing to be true. My quick take on it is, they need to self reflect and not just feel.
It’s the in the title, Food Network star Anne Burrell. I don’t watch the Food Network so I’m not totally sure who she is but there’s also a picture in the article and she looks familiar.
