Remember when Microsoft was telling shareholders that the Xbox multimedia ecosystem was going to dominate living rooms everywhere, then people stopped hanging out in their living rooms?

Talk about failing to pivot. Reddit was in such a good position to ride the AI bubble. Too bad all of their content had already been scraped. They then alienated their power users and casual users got a peak behind the curtain. New, interesting things don’t start on Reddit anymore. The entire front page is just trump articles and reposts. You can predict all of the top comments because it is the same shit over and over.
Uber: We just facilitate rides between our “independent contractors” and customers. We’re not liable for anything that happens
Amazon: We just facilitate purchases between our “independent retailers” and customers. We’re not liable for anything that happens
AirBnB: We just facilitate rentals between our “independent landlords” and customers. We’re not liable for anything that happens

I feel like this is closer to the real answer. A lot of the criticism of Tesla applies to other EVs as well. Elon tanking his credibility opened up a dialogue about how EVs in general are super inconvenient, destroy roads, and aren’t nearly as “green” as they seem. This coupled with the US automakers focusing on behemoths instead cheap commuters only amplified this.
