Knowing German can give you a competitive edge with employers and even boost your salary prospects.
Wo mein geld?
This article seems to be targeted at brits but nevertheless, learning languages is good for many reasons. It’s also fun as long as it’s not something that happens under pressure.
The write-up I’m referencing has some at the end. Maybe Delta chat?
Views that seriously harm or endanger other people are dangerous.
If the founder would have opposing views in e.g. should we narrow down the car roads in cities and widen the pedestrian walks - ok. I think there’s a lot to this question, I think pedestrian walks should be wider, cars are dangerous, etc. But this is not as dangerous as:
“Do you deny scientific evidence that COVID is real and a real danger to a lot of humans”
SimpleX Chat – Many suggested this and I will explicitly recommend against it due to the founder’s positions on various topics. This includes being anti-vaxx, believing COVID-19 was a hoax, trans- and homophobia, climate denial; In the SimpleX Groupchat he’s also been seen basically bootlicking trump a couple times, but I’ve lost receipts to that.
I did not know this. I’ve seen people recommend SimpleX on lemmy too, but probably they didn’t know.

Lol love the new username, fitting! :)
I used !<index>
Together with history
by giving an index displayed in the history list, but did not know that you can use it like that! Also didn’t know about ^
Thanks for the tips!
This is why I follow linux memes, I don’t know if I have ever bumped into CTRL+R but I finally can let go of
history
Well atleast you know for certain what you like :)
I would be curious to try other distros, but I’m way too happy with Linux Mint. Maybe one day :)
I’ve been using linux at work for years, but never installed a distro at home to replace my desktop before.
Switched to linux mint at home last autumn and had 0 issues and love it!
To be fair I knew my way around Debian already, but using linux with a desktop environment to replace my home setup posed some challenges that simply originate from being used to windows at home.
I went with Linux Mint because I wanted my home desktop to work with minimal fiddling and I’m still really happy!
Edit: words.
Honestly this has crossed my mind several times as another reason why people don’t put the phone on their ear. You might be on to something!
I’m convinced people forgot that our huge handheld devices are supposed to still be mobile phones that you are supposed to put against your ear when you call someone.
StreetComplete is really fun, and also can make a familiar surrounding area of your home worthy of re-exploring!
That’s why I’m also always trying to push the benefits of open data/source/etc onto my employers. It sometimes works too.
It’s up to us as individuals to also make a fuss about this stuff here in EU. I love EU but I’m not blindly trusting every corpo that’s from EU.
Choose local (in our case European/EU), but not blindly and naively.

Edit: honestly I don’t know how to answer this in german, haven’t learned how to express my condolences.
