government is not stopped. we have had government shutdowns and things keep going. non essential government as chosen by the executive arm of the government are shutdown. I have been through two or three shutdowns. everything is not shut down. I mean I have listed why its actually worse if its shut down in this particular scenario. there is not more to tell. it really does play into their favor and the only reason they would not want to overtly do it is optics.
eyup. A lot of laws and policies even into this millenium in major cities like mine were made to get people to bring their kids to school and talk with police and it made a significant difference in some pretty bad neighborhoods. Now it goes back to gang control likely.

Not to me. Its like a trolley problem where if you do nothing someone dies but if you flip it has the exact same outcome. Seems obvious that its better to not have a hand in it.

Again most is heavily weighted as fox news and the fly by night propoganda outlets that have arisen. Its like im a well respected profession and then a bunch of assholes say they are that profession to and now people talk about how my profession sucks but all the actual professionals with real training and experience are just lumped in.

I still see this as unfair. The legitimate press majority does a somewhat decent job but increasingly bad as not enough depth is put in. The bad is unlimited because it is bullshit. “Newspapers” show up at my door with legitimate sounding names and that takes a whole lot more effort than throwing a website up. These things are not really the press but they technically make up the majority. These fake press entities could care less about the first amendment but the legitimate press does.
thats what I meant though. Once they can reliably control the military and the police they will be going after the second amendment like nobodies business.

I find this idea of the press being responsible absurd. I had no problem knowing about him from the press. I mean if you talking fox news or such sure but my local news stations were good as was ap and npr.
I have only seen american and not red state specific. granted the only thing out of the eu article is bourbon and I don’t drink much and when I do its more likely vodka anyway.

I already went through that it plays into his hands. now he can furlough whoever he likes and the court can’t say boo. right now the firings are being challenged and that is a good thing. - Look im adding this here as I meant to put it before. My knee jerk reaction was the same. Resist no matter what but I have outlayed why its worse to allow the shutdown is all. Be mad thats fine. But I just thought it over and realized the shutdown could be and likely would be worse and just allow trump to do what he is doing easier. He effectively is shutting down the government on a permanent basis.
