I couldn’t imagine Jeffries doing any of that to a fraction of the efficacy that Pelosi did. Frankly, the only thing I’ve seen him do is dodge questions with vague corpospeak. Pelosi had big flaws but I’d take her over Jeffries’ useless ass any day.

Sometimes you can’t have an ideal outcome.

This is what centrists love to tell progressives. But thanks to DNC leadership, the reality is that progressives almost never get their ideal outcome.

In fact, progressives are hardly even allowed representation within the DNC, god forbid leadership roles. Every time a popular progressive candidate comes along the DNC and centrists say, “now is not the time” and do everything in their power to prevent the progressive candidate from gaining power. It’s been that way for decades and yet they still feel entitled to the progressive vote.

At this point, many progressives are so disillusioned with the DNC that they are actively voting for MAGA candidates rather than just staying home on election day. No amount of telling them to vote for the lesser evil is going to work.

The only way for the DNC to guarantee the progressive vote is to open up space in the party for progressive politics. But at this point it’s becoming clear that the DNC would sooner risk losing power to fascists rather than to progressives.

You can yell at voters until you’re blue in the face and nothing will change. The DNC has been trying that since 2016 and the only time it “worked” was when the opposition was in the middle of mismanaging a once-in-a-century disaster. The only way you’re going to inspire people to vote for you is to give them what they want.

I find you get much better results if you talk to the LLM like you were instructing a robot, not a human. That means being very specific about everything.

It’s the difference between, “I would like water” and, “I would like a glass filled with drinking water and a few cubes of ice mixed in”.

How bread is made

It’s not just rural voters. I was just at a dentist apt in suburban Washington and the hygienist was talking about how her son just moved away from California and that she was glad he was getting away because of “how bad the crime has gotten in California”.

Sometimes, as I approach middle-age, a desire to have kids creeps into my fantasies. And then something like this comes along and snuffs that desire out.

This is happening not far from me and I’ve been watching it play out over the last three months. It’s egregious what ICE is getting away with. The agents are armed and armored. They’re tackling peaceful protectors, slamming them to the ground, sending them to the hospital. The school’s outdoor playground is about 50 feet away from where they’re constantly gassing. It’s not just the school either, there are apartment buildings and businesses across the street from the ICE building where residents are getting exposed as well. There’s a dance school a couple blocks down as well where adults and children come and go.

It’s not even like the gas is being an effective deterrent. The protestors have masks too or simply just don’t give a fuck and tank it. They’re just deploying munitions against civilians because they can and want to.

Actually, we’re going to die regardless because none of the politicians supported by either party care enough to solve the issues in this country that are slowly killing us. But yes, fascism will certainly expedite the process.

Trump was found liable for rape, was responsible for fumbling America’s response to COVID killing a lot more than just people’s grandparents, and incited a violent insurrection against the Nation’s capitol and despite all that America handed him back the keys to the Whitehouse.

The majority of Americans seem to have short memories. Hopefully New Yorkers are better than that.
