Merwil Gutiérrez sent from New York to El Salvador prison although family says he has no criminal history or gang ties

A 19-year-old Venezuelan in New York City reportedly was apprehended by Trump administration immigration authorities and deported to El Salvador despite agents’ realizing he was not whom they meant to arrest in a targeted operation.

Merwil Gutiérrez, whose family opened an asylum case after arriving in the US, was deported from the Bronx to the notorious Cecot prison in El Salvador despite his relatives’ insistence that he has no gang ties or criminal history, according to Documented, a newsroom dedicated to telling the stories of immigrants in New York City. The Gutiérrez family says it has been left without information or answers.

The teen was detained alongside 237 other Venezuelans on 24 February by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice). His father, Wilmer Gutiérrez, told Documented: “I feel like my son was kidnapped.”

You can’t assume the cop was a nazi, they were just following orders. Everyone has to follow orders in their job and are probably afraid of repercussions if they don’t follow through with their job after getting the orders mixed up by, for example, accidentally sent out the wrong plate of food, or an innocent teenager to an offshore death camp.

Just following orders… the Concentration Camp guards all said the same during the Nuremberg trials. Most of them got hanged. Just FYI.

Then again the yank soldiers all said the same after the massacres in Vietnam and they all got off.

Of course, the situations are different. Nazi Germany had to be broken and the trials were conducted locally by the winners. Can’t just abduct high ranking military/politicians of foreign nations, that would set a bad precedent, and probably only work just exactly once. That’s why no-one is really giddy to arrest Putin or any of his boot lickers, too much unpredictable fallout, probably literal fallout.

The US is not a member of the Rome Statute, nor the ICJ. They’ve openly threatened those institutions with sanctions if they go after them or their citizens.

The ICJ/ICC are only for the powerless, fallen, disgraced. The big players just don’t follow those institutions’ orders, at best cherry-pick what to follow.

I’d say I’m well aware how this works.

Research, in this case, would have been reading the entirity of the comment. If that is too hard for everyone, I can see why we are in this mess.

The entirety of the comment doesn’t really change the fact you need to know it’s sarcasm and not an asshole. That said you could always be a sarcastic asshole and uhh…

I can see why we are in this mess.

            …maybe that’s the case.

That isn’t however what your name says, it says you’re sarcastic. It just appears you also are an asshole. Like I said I’m not doing the leg work to find out how serious you are, for all I know this is a cover so you can say the shit you actually feel without as much flyback.

If your intent is to be offensive don’t be offended that I don’t care how serious you are im simply going to assume you’re just an asshole which btw you just validated for me publicly. Good job.

Got it, sarcasm isn’t allowed anymore, that’s offensive. Repeatedly calling someone an asshole however, is top notch behaviour.

Do what you please just don’t cry when people treat you the easy to act rather than the way you intended.

Yeah, I was the first to throw insults, right. Stop crying.

That’s literally what Nazis said at trial and the court said fuck you if a dollar buys your morality you’re simply immoral.

I really didn’t think this needed a “/s” based on the sentence structure, but based on the votes I am again depressed by general reading comprehension.

Never heard of Poe’s Law, eh?

Come up with the most unhinged parody you possibly can of these nutjobs, and I guarantee some of them wholeheartedly believe worse.

I often find myself agreeing, but the comparison between sending an innocent teen to an offshore death camp and setting out the wrong food is pretty fucking contextual.
