    Are you thinking of Universities? State colleges are generally extremely affordable, particularly with aide if it is available to you.

      For some values of “extremely” maybe. Also many “state schools” are universities, so you probably should have gone with “private universities” instead. State schools are still an order of magnitude more expensive that most universities in Europe. If I was of school age now, I’d likely not be able to afford to go to college even with the scholarships that I had received.

        I believe my local prices are in the realm of ~$150/credit hour. I am an advocate for free access to post-secondary education, but much of the discourse around egregious schooling costs are in reference to the substantially more expensive programs at full universities, state or private.
