Technically the US hasn’t been at war since WWII. As you say he stretches the meaning of the word war to the breaking point, not calling the Vietnam Conflict a war also seems equally ridiculous.
Also what about the Cold War? If everyone agrees the War on Drugs is a war and considering it has cost us millions of lives now why can’t it be a war.
