Donald Trump launched into an attack against Fox News and Rupert Murdoch after Martha MacCallum confronted him with less-than-stellar polling on the economy.
If even Fox “News” reports bad statistics on Trump, what would proper statistics tell? We’ll probably learn this only after the war, just like in Germany 80 years ago.
Fox News polling has been about as good as anywhere else. The specific number cited was having a -20 point spread for approval/disapproval on the economy. That’s basically in line with what other pollsters are showing.
At least for now, their polls are probably good, but I don’t know if that will stay true. My guess is that they dump polling entirely rather than try to fake numbers. Perhaps they’ll try to generate numbers with an LLM and keep prompting it until they see the ones they want. In either case, it’ll be pretty obvious.
I would expect Fox “News” just to hold back when the numbers are bad, and just attack anyone else showing similar numbers as enemies of the state or something.
