In addition to being an insanely popular musician he’s also been in several WWE matches (and actually did great,) has been on SNL, and played the waiter-turned-caddy in Happy Gilmore 2 in a guest spot. So he’s pretty well known. Not to be aggro or suggest that’s the creme de la creme of celebrity, just to let you know the level he operates on. He’s pretty well recognized at a glance to a lot of people.

My sister in law last year accused me of being a misogynist because I don’t like Taylor Swift’s music. She argued that since Swift is the most-downloaded artist ever on Spotify, that means she is objectively the greatest singer-songwriter in history and the only reason I could possibly dislike her music is that I don’t like women. I suggested that she must be racist because she doesn’t like Kanye West and Bad Bunny (who are the second- and third-most downloaded or thereabouts artists on Spotify) and she was like “who is Bad Bunny?”

I met someone opposite. I told a guy about all the bands and solo artists I like, plenty of whom are women, and he suggested that once I’m in a long-term relationship I won’t want to listen to women anymore.

I errrr… think that when it comes to women musicians the fella mostly enjoyed the music videos. X_X Or perhaps they made him feel less “alone” or something. He was defo not there just for the music
