Honestly the only reason Germany ever got the damned thing is because you guys went nuts post industrialization, otherwise it’s a question on if Britain or the USA would’ve kept it. Shit like Wounded Knee was in living memory until but a scant few decades ago, same thing with a bunch of the shit Britain pulled in India and South Africa.
