Surprised they weren’t feeling the pressure sooner, what with Ukraine blowing up oil infrastructure on a pretty much weekly basis for over a year. I have a feeling they’ll find a way to keep the war machine running though.

Weren’t we all. The video breaks down how all their various counter measures are finally (a strong claim) running dry.

I have a feeling they’ll find a way to keep the war machine running though.

Of course pessimism is cooler than optimism, but if their economy really “finally” breaks down, surely the war machine will soon follow. You can run on fumes, hunger and actual slavery for so long only.

edit: not fumes, assuming they can keep their refineries running. Lack of spare parts maybe.

Oil is Russia number 1 export. There’s a LOT of oil infrastructure.

And while they may be Russians, the vast majority of oil infrastructure is metal pipes and tubes, and big metal barrels. You can repair most of it with metal plates and welders, and Russians are pretty famous for bodging shitty equipment back into life. Not the important bits, but the important expensive bits are also easier to defend.
