Leaders from France, Germany and Poland are headed to Moldova Wednesday on the eve of the campaign for next month’s high-stakes parliamentary election. Moldova’s pro-EU President Maia Sandu described the European leaders’ visit as a “show of support” for the former Soviet republic in the face of what the government has denounced as Russian interference.

    I prefer to be a little blue-eyed here and see it 100% as the show of support against a common enemy it’s supposed to be.

    People tend to forget that all this (gestures towards Russia and Ukraine) is a uniquely European problem first and last. Sure it has global components but the way America latched on to it, with its black/white ideology, Free World vs Communism, We Are The World Police POV - is exactly what Putin wished for.
