    Explanation: Just a linguistics joke. “Trad” chuds often insist there are only two genders, and idolize Rome, without the first idea about Rome other than “Marble busts and strong jawed legions”.

    But the Latin language itself has three genders - masculine, feminine, and neuter!

        Not quite deprecated but merged with the masculine, once the case system was eroded enough. That’s one of the reasons Romance languages typically default to the masculine, if you “force” a genderless word (like a verb) into a noun role.

    Never thought about this. My native language also has this so this will be a fun counter argument against the “there is only man and woman” crowd

    I don’t want to oppose the message of your meme. But I think “genus” is not the same as gender or sexus. Genus is more like grammatical gender ;)
