Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Israel would use “increasing military strength” against Hamas after talks with the group reached an impasse. Israeli forces launched large aerial attacks across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday morning, in the first major strikes on the territory since Israel’s cease-fire with Hamas began roughly two months ago. Gaza’s health ministry said more than 400 people had been killed in the attacks, which raised the prospect of a return to all-out war. Bodies of Palestinians killed in Israeli air strikes.

There has never been a true ceasefire; Middle East conflict is perpetual. It’s baked into the planet for all time, and trying to change it is delusional.

As far back as anyone alive can remember, throughout written history, the show of attempted peace has failed, and it will continue to fail forever. If Asia was glassed, there would still be violence in Philistia. We’ll see warring factions in the ME until the last human being has vanished, and when only a single fungus survives the Holocene Extinction, another fungus will appear in this exact geographic location to threaten its survival because this is where peace goes to die.
