The only ones that are organized enough to do so are foreign governments, and that’s problematic for a multitude of reasons… though China’s starting to sound nicer day by day. And that says a lot.

I wonder how many people even know when there are votes outside of the general presidential election?

I’m not in Texas but I find it difficult to know when a vote is occurring even when I’m actively trying to pay attention to them. And then on top of that, what is on the ballot. I have to actively monitor the state’s website which also explicitly says that the list they provide does not necessarily include all events. I’d prefer a system that can inform me of upcoming elections.

Just to let you know what they’re taking away from people… There are states that mail you a voter pamphlet that has the candidate’s bios, experience listed, education listed, what groups and organizations they’re endorsed by, the issues you’re supposed to be voting on, with for and against arguments for each issue, plus counter arguments for each for and against argument stated. Then few a days later your voter ballot arrives in the mail, and you have 2-3 weeks to peruse the pamphlet, fill out your ballot and either mail it back with no postage required, or drop it off at ballot boxes around the city. As long as its collected or postmarked by 8pm the night of the election, your vote is counted, which you can check the status of your vote being counted on the city’s website. From ballot sent->ballot delivered->mailed back->ballot received->signature verification->ballot counted. And yes, they do check the signature, I’ve had it contested a few times because my signature is atrocious.

Can’t take away what they never had. I can do mail in voting but I have to request it, and it’s just the ballot. Not sure what the process is in Texas, but I know they don’t get all that. My family lives in Texas.

        It does sound great though.

I guess I meant, when the administration starts coming after states that primarily do mail in voting, this is what they’re taking away. It is SO easy to be an informed voter here compared to other states I’ve lived, its crazy.
