Today’s game is some more Wind Waker. I started making my way through the first dungeon, but was stopped by my worst enemy: A dead controller battery. It’s a shame because I had just gotten the key.
Moving on though, having played the game before I feel like I can take it a bit easier and observe my surroundings. One thing I noticed was these statues, which remind me a lot of the ones in BoTW. I don’t think they’re a perfect 1:1 but they do remind me a bit.
I met Medli for the first time In this save. Growing up she was always my favorite character. As a small child I thought she was neat. As an adult, I still think she’s pretty cool, we’ll see if that perspective changes with a new playthrough though.
I absolutely love this game, it’s gorgeous, has an amazing story, and I feel like it’s an amazing Zelda game. But also, this puzzle can go fuck itself. I struggled way too long. Either my shot would overshoot to I’d undershoot. And I couldn’t take out the centipede thing because it kept bouncing back in the lava. Other than that though great experience.
I got the grappling hook tonight which is the dungeon item I remember from this game. I just remember it being used in a lot of cool puzzles and I wish we got to see it more often. I had to end shortly after this because my controller battery died unfortunately. But I’m going to play more tomorrow (after a charge)
I don’t think I hate the triforce quest as much as I see others, as I do have some fond memories of it. Just it drags on a little too long. I disagree with the people who want it cut entirely, but I can respect their opinion. The cut content is so fascinating too. I remember hearing the Iron Boots were cut, and it’s always triggered this sort of morbid curiosity where I can’t help but wonder what it would have been like to keep them.
