Ok so this is a bit clearer than yesterday’s news that said he opened the emergency door and jumped out before the crash.

Right, I understand he was in the best position. But if you see the videos, it crashed within 32 seconds of liftoff, and there wasn’t really indication other than it stalled at the same very low altitude until it quickly went down, unless it was obvious inside (i.e. oxygen masks deployed, etc.).

If he managed to open the emergency door and jump out within that time span, that is some very very quick timing and reflexes.

Wait, how? Based on what I’ve seen (might no longer be the case as with ongoing events), the plan crashed literally within seconds of getting airborne. How was he able to 1. Know the plane was gonna crash, and 2. Be quick enough to unbuckle, open the emergency door, and jump within seconds?

I would like to know more.

Scroll down to the bottom of both instances’ home pages using the default lemmy UI. You’ll see the version of lemmy they use. You’ll also see a link labeled as Legal, which contains most of the instance’s policies. The Instances link will show you what instances they are federated and defederated with. The modlog can also give you some insight on what’s happening on the instance. Combine that with all the other information on their sidebars and you’ll get a rough idea of how different they are managed.

It also helps if you’ve been on lemmy for a while because you would’ve directly experienced or witnessed any issues or controversies those instances have been involved with.

For .ee users still deciding on an instance to jump to, I chose .zip because it’s managed similarly:

• Similar defederation policy
• Runs the latest version of lemmy
• Defederated from Threads

Others moved to piefed.social.

Talk about over exaggeration lol. Lemm.ee was fine and well run, I enjoyed it more than being on .world. They just didn’t have enough people willing to be admins.

I think it’s simply because more people use mastodon and lemmy, so there’s more incentive to work on them, and there are a lot more contributors to development.

Care to expound on that? I picked .zip to migrate to from .ee

They sure make it look so good in movie westerns though. I’ve always been fascinated with that meat+beans stew they make in movies. They look like they taste so good.

I use a thick pillow to hug and a folded blanket for my head. The blanket’s thickness can be customized to fit. The real problem is in hotels were both pillows are usually huge, so it’s literally a pain in the neck.
