Unless global heating is reduced to 1.2C ‘as fast as possible’, warm water coral reefs will not remain ‘at any meaningful scale’, a report by 160 scientists from 23 countries warns

Most climate scientists (this affects a wide variety of fields to be clear) get captured and rendered harmless by the system. A few are very loud, but as they are a small minority others in their field are happy to ignore their message as to not rock the boat. They are easily dismissed as alarmist, irrational, extremist etc.
Imagine going into a field to make a difference and you end up publishing papers that basically say “we knew this 70 years ago, we knew this 50 years ago, we knew we were out of time 30 years ago, and here’s what we should have done 10 years ago at the latest, but it’s too late now so we should just give up”.
Then they move on to the next study on how “it’s even worser now, we should have done something in 2025”.Fucking collaborators, really.
I’ll be seeing you 🎶
🎶I feel helpless🎶
(not an actual song that I know of)
CSNY, written by Neil Young.
[Verse 1] There is a town in North Ontario With dream, comfort, memory to spare And in my mind, I still need a place to go All my changes were there
[Verse 2] Blue, blue windows behind the stars Yellow moon on the rise Big birds flying across the sky Throwing shadows on our eyes Leave us [Chorus] Helpless, helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless) Babe, can you hear me now? (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless) The chains are locked and tied across the door (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless) Babe, sing with me somehow (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless)
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2] Blue, blue windows behind the stars Yellow moon on the rise Big birds flying across the sky Throwing shadows on our eyes Leave us
[Chorus] Helpless, helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless) Helpless, helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless, helpless) Helpless, helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless, helpless) Helpless, helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless) Helpless, helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless) Helpless, helpless (Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless)
I hope against all hope that the collapse of our environment happens in a way that makes climate change deniers suffer the most, aside from oil execs of course
