So we’re ok with demanding bosses in our capitalist paradise, right up until Prime Minister. We wouldn’t want the leader of the entire country to run a tight ship now, would we?
In case it’s not obvious to conservatives, whatever a liberal is, it’s the incorrect thing. How do you not see it? If Carney was known to be a laid back boss, we would see the exact same people complaining about that instead.
More predictable than the sun rising.
Mark Carney is cracking down on privacy and is bowing down to Trump. He is no white knight.
No, but at the same time, there’s far better critiques of him than being a “hard boss”
I mean, it is pretty anti-democratic for a PM to rule his party, and in turn the civil service, with an iron fist. Even ignoring the fact that democracy is intended as rule by the people, he was only elected in his riding and not by Canadians as a whole.
“hard boss” is not the same as “iron fist”.
Again, he’s a conservative in liberal clothing. I have no love for him. I think there’s far more dangerous actions he is (National works without indigenous consults) and isn’t taking on important issues (freeing Canadian captives in Israel). Those being just two examples I have off the top of my head.
Even “iron fist” isnt really much when we really should be focusing on bigger problems.
My point is when we get into a “I think he’s a bad person because he’s a hard boss” isn’t really saying anything on his politics. Sure it’s an indication, but who are you going to talk to and say he’s a hard boss and have them think you anything else as whiny? (That’s how it comes across).
I think it absolutely is an indication of his politics. Conservatism, at its core, is about hierarchy. His deference to people like Trump, and his attacks on unions, are consistent with my description re the anti-democracy aspects of being an elected official unwilling to listen to those he deems beneath him.
I expect his leadership of the Liberals will end in mutiny.
So we’re ok with demanding bosses in our capitalist paradise,
…Are we? The thing about business is I don’t vote for the boss. And “demanding” isn’t great if the demands are totally out to lunch. Which definitely happens a lot.
I feel like that’s blown way out of proportion. I say that and I don’t even like the guy.
When someone from Gould’s team texted to ask if she could stop by and congratulate the winner, Carney said no. In fact, according to one source I spoke with, he said he didn’t ever want to see her again. Carney’s staff sent Gould a non-committal answer, trying not to offend her, but she showed up anyway. That led to a brief, awkward meeting with Carney.
Wow OK.
Mark Carney is entitled as hell, he smiled well for the camera while Milhouse fucked around.
