We don’t really have a better alternative sadly. Independents tend to either sit between Labor and libs rather than left of Labor or lean hard into libertarianism economicly rather than socially; single issue candidates are usually right wing and/or religious psychopaths; the greens have good policy but are uncompromising on many issues so lose a lot of support due to misalignment with the opinion of the voter majority.
The responsible thing would be for all media to refuse to deal with him in the meantime.
He’d like that though. He doesn’t like the media asking him questions pointing out inconvenient truths. If mainstream media stopped engaging with him all that would be left is fox, which will broadcast whatever he tells them to.
